Big iPhones likely to bring Apple’s biggest, best sales quarter


Look back at Apple’s quarterly iPhone sales and you’ll see a simple pattern: The holidays are good for iPhones. The final three months of every year is actually Apple’s first fiscal quarter and 9to5 Mac notes that KGI Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo released his (typically accurate) estimate for the period, suggesting that Apple will have sold a whopping 71.5 million handsets.

How big of a quarter would that be? Here’s the chart of quarterly iPhone sales, showing that last year’s record was just over 51 million handsets.
