The chip cycles are revving and that means new devices are coming. One of them just might be a successor to the original Chromebook Pixel, which debuted two years ago this month. Evidence of testing Chrome OS software with an unannounced laptop that has both a lightbar on the lid and 2560 x 1700 resolution was found recently and the screenshot evidence was promptly pulled.
Turns out the original Pixel had those same characteristics so it’s not a stretch to consider a Pixel 2 is in the works. Besides: The first edition is nearly two chip generations behind current computers and doesn’t benefit from the battery life found in today’s laptops.
