Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto gets his own Flappy Bird video game

A small tech company called Nopalito Games has created a Mexican version of the popular and addictive video game Flappy Bird featuring embattled Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto.

In the satirical take on the game called Flappy Peña, the president must ride a seagull — a reference to his wife who is a soap opera star known as “La Gaviota” — as he tries to stay afloat and avoid angry protesters, a Mexican white house (a nod to the housing scandal involving the first lady and a government contractor), a sign that reads “43” in reference to the missing Ayotzinapa students and an old oil rig.

If Peña Nieto falls, he says things such as “Ya sé que no aplauden,” Spanish for “I know they won’t applaud,” a phrase that went viral after the president didn’t notice his microphone was still on and complained reporters did not clap after one…
